AFW 2010: Runway Round-up (1)

In Aspen your ski apparel is just as important as what you wear out to dinner, so it came as no surprise when AFW delivered an amazing line-up of skiwear on the Snowstage! In case you missed it, or want to tag a look to sport next year, here is the AFW 2010 runway round-up.

AFW 2010: Runway Round-up (2)

The colors are still popping on the ski slopes and what better accessory to finish off the whole outfit with than a pair of Heidi Skis! White is always a staple in skiwear and at the moment is still best paired with neon colors from the 80’s.

AFW 2010: Runway Round-up (3)Parajumpers is certainly a line to keep your eye on- it had guys and gals alike exchanging lustful looks! With leather skipants, embroidered detail and oversized fur hoods, who could blame them? Marmot always produces a classic and fitted jacket that is perfect for apres ski.

The looks from the Snowstage were as cool as they come with designs that will keep you turning heads on the slopes as well as the streets.

AFW 2010- best dressed: street style (2)

The looks on the Snowstage have been hot, and so has the fashion on the street here in Aspen during Aspen Fashion Week. With spring-like weather in the mountains, I caught some of the best lightly layered looks that transcend winter to spring and ski town style to city chic.

AFW 2010- best dressed: street style

One thing is certain- this town is made of boots and jeans! We are out West, so the denim trend only seems appropriate and I love the way each of my featured fashionistas personalizes her look with a unique scarf or hat and jewelry.

AFW 2010- best dressed: street style (men)

Let’s hear it for the boys! Loving the smartly dressed duo with hints of mis-matched plaid and stand out accessories like the caddie hat and ray bans.

So, that is just a little taste of the off-the-runway style that is catching everyone’s attention and providing lots of inspiration!

AFW 2010- insider schedule

The fashion-packed schedule continues at Aspen Fashion Week! Overwhelmed by all the options, or not sure where to grab a great bite on the go? I’ve got you covered! ;)

Wednesday- March 17:

-If you are recovering from the Ralph Lauren/ FEED bash last night with a live performance by John Forte at the Belly Up, you will probably want to check into the Aspen Club and Spa. They have a free shuttle with door-to-door service, and if you make it here by noon you can join the 12:30pm yoga basics class. Also, you can call to schedule a spa treatment, or just chill in the locker rooms- they have a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi to ease your aches and pains.

-After your low-key morning at the spa, head to the Juice Beauty lounge at the Sky Hotel to get a complimentary makeover with all natural and organic skincare and make-up. This line literally feeds your skin with antioxidant packed juices that help quench its thirst at this high altitude.

-Stop by the Big Wrap for a healthy on-the-go late lunch on your way to the Snowstage to see the AUTHIER collection and the Best of Winter Roundup presented by SNOW Magazine.

-Head to Theory from 6:00- 7pm for an in-store event with insider styling beta to keep you looking your best this week!

-Ready for another night out? You won’t want to miss the Spyder party at the Dancing Bear. Word on the street is that all our Olympic favorites like Bodie Miller and Julia Mancuso will be there to help celebrate in style!

Thursday: March 18:

-Today is all about being at the mountain with J. Crew and Heidiskis! You can demo a pair of Heidiskis from the base area at their tent and then head up the mountain.

-Ski hard, and head straight to apres ski at Il Mulino at the base of the gondola and get ready for another set of fabulous skiwear (Helly Hansen and D&E SPORTS) showcased on the Snowstage from 4:00- 5:30pm.

-Keep the good times going with hot toddies at J. Crew with Jenna Lyons.

-Call it an early night, shower and change to grab some sushi at the local sushi house Takah Sushi. Call in advance to get booked in, and request the bar if you can.

Friday- March 19:

-It’s the last day of Aspen Fashion Week, so go out with a bang! Head to SnowMass for another great day of skiing. Take time out for a great lunch at Sneaky’s Tavern- the caesar salad with salmon is actually amazing and you can sit out on their patio to soak up the rays while you re-fuel.

-Get a few more runs in and then head to the Viceroy for apres ski and the final runway wrap-up from 3:30- 6pm.

That wraps up the schedule for Aspen Fashion Week but the buzz will continue, as this is an event that is making its claim in the fashion world. Keep an eye out for AFW coverage and you can always stop by the AFW homepage for updates and to stay in the ski town loop.
